'Nudify' is an Anglo-Saxon term that refers to the action of 'nuding' (from the verb 'to nudify'). Like 'DeepNude', it has become a generic term for any AI undress tool. It is no longer the name of a specific app, but a category.
Our approach
We do not score the term 'Nudify' itself. We score the 6 tools in our catalogue: AiNudez, PornWorks, DeepUndress, Undresswith AI, WaveSpeed and UndressHer. Each is evaluated on the same 5 weighted criteria, with the same reference image set.
Quality and speed
Quality depends on the source photo, lighting and clothing complexity. Speed varies by tool: WaveSpeed is optimised for speed via API, DeepUndress for fast video. We score speed as a criterion (15% of the score).
Consent in France
Processing intimate images of an adult with their explicit consent is permitted. Without consent, the French Penal Code (art. 226-1, 226-4) applies. This is an offence, not a matter of politeness. CNIL is the competent supervisory authority.
Technology limits
AI undress is a statistical prediction, not an anatomical reconstruction. The model predicts the body shape under clothing based on millions of training images. This is why quality varies by source photo: a clear silhouette gives better results than a complex one.
What we do not test
We do not test NSFW content generation tools (text-to-image, text-to-video). Our scope is undress: transforming a clothed photo into a nude image. Generation from scratch is a different technology.
Responsible use
- Use only your own photos or those of adults who have given explicit written consent.
- AI-generated images must be labelled as synthetic and never presented as real (EU AI Act, Art. 50).
- Tools that process images of celebrities are not in the catalogue, regardless of output quality.
- If published without consent, the Penal Code (art. 226-1, 226-4) applies. Contact the CNIL or file a complaint.
- Delete local images after download. Tool servers may retain them longer than their policy suggests.
